Hundreds of thousands of people are forced to flee their homes every year due to conflict, persecution and environmental disaster. Refugees travel hundreds of kilometres to seek safety for themselves and their families—a total of 2 billion kilometres every year. We are bringing this fact to life by joining the #StepWithRefugees challenge.
Geneva Business School is joining the UN Refugee Agency to walk, run, cycle or swim 2 billion kilometres in solidarity with refugees. We are challenging the Madrid campus to cover 60,000 kilometres together, between 22 September 2019 to 29 May 2020.
The student who covers the most kilometres during this period will have the opportunity to attend the prestigious Nansen Refugee Award Ceremony, held in Geneva, Switzerland in 2020. The event is by invitation only and honours an individual or organization who has dedicated their time going above and beyond the call of duty to help people forcibly displaced from their homes.
